Migrants

ChildTRAC is in the planning phase of a migrant wellbeing project. It will assess the needs of migrant children as individuals and as part of a communal group.

The primary focus includes health (water and sanitation), locating migrant children, legal status, community needs assessments and information gathering.

Migrant SOK

A migrant specific Speak Out Kit (Migrant SOK) will be developed and trialled in communities. It is designed to suit the cultural and living environment of migrant children to help assess their wellbeing.

Database

ChildTRAC is also developing a standardised database. This can be used as a centralised reference point for use by approved organisations working with migrants and minority children in Thailand.

Clothing Project

ChildTRAC was involved in fundraising, purchasing and distributing clothing, blankets and other necessaties, such as toothbrushes and soap, to over 100 migrant children living in the Khuk Khak area in Phang Nga Province. Recent research conducted by ChildTRAC reveals that there are still hundreds of adults and children existing in appalling living conditions without these basic provisionsand so ChildTRAC will continue to run their migrant projects to help those in need.
