Who we are

Our Founder and Managing Director: Chantalle Lacroix

Chantalle was born and raised in the Netherlands, where she lived in several villages in the South of the country. She started working at the age of seventeen in her father's financial service company. She continued her work as a financial consultant throughout university, after which she started her own real estate agency and worked as a coordinator for local governments. She also organised her own events, where she managed the crew and finances.

After the tsunami hit Thailand, Chantalle started fundraising in the Netherlands. She started a foundation and left for Thaialnd in february 2005. She worked as a volunteer at the Tsunami Volunteer Center in Khao Lak, Phang Nga for one month, helping to build houses and provide financial and personal assistance for the rebuilding of a local resort. Additonally she coordinated the front desk at the Volunteer Center and helped develop systems for reception and volunteer orientation. In September 2005 she returned to Khao Lak. After other volunteer work she teamed up  witho Johannes Egger and Saundra Schimmelpfennig to help create the Disaster Tracking Recovery Assistance Center (D-TRAC).

It was during this time at D-TRAC that Chantalle decided to assist child organisations by locating and screening the children to provide the agencies with the information they needed to distribute appropriate aid and avoid duplication of efforts. ChildTRAC was born and registered as an independent non-government organisation (NGO).
